Our History

Bana (बाना) / (बाणा) is a Gotra of Jats found mainly in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh in India.

  • Origin
    Bana is a rigvedic ruling clan. The word Bāṇeya is used for the adherents of Banasura (बाणासुर). [4]. The present Bana clan may be identified with them.
  • History
    Dr Pema Ram writes that after the invasion of Alexander in 326 BC, the Jats of Sindh and Punjab migrated to Rajasthan. They built tanks, wells and Bawadis near their habitations. The tribes migrated were: Shivis, Yaudheyas, Malavas, Madras etc. The Shivi tribe which came from Ravi and Beas Rivers founded towns like Sheo, Sojat, Siwana, Shergarh, Shivganj etc. This area was adjoining to Sindh and mainly inhabited by Jats. The descendants of Madras in Rajasthan are: Jinja, Bana, Thoria, Lagman, Kamodia, Madal, Devsalya, Junawa, Maderna, Judi, Madrewa, Khokh, Asihag etc.
    According to Bhim Singh Dahiya Aila (Ailavats of today) and Bana are also mentioned as protectors of the gates (dvaars).
  • बाना जाटवंश
    दलीप सिंह अहलावत[10] के अनुसार बाना चन्द्रवंशी जाटवंश सुप्रसिद्ध नरेश बाणासुर के नाम से प्रचलित हुआ। बयाना, जो जिला भरतपुर में है, इस वंश के क्षत्रियों की राजधानी थी। यहां की राजकुमारी उषा का विवाह श्रीकृष्ण जी के पौत्र तथा प्रद्युम्न के पुत्र अनिरुद्ध से हुआ था। उषा का स्मृति मन्दिर बयाना में आज भी विद्यमान है। बाद में इस नगर पर वरिक2 (जाटवंश) और फिर सिनसिनवारों (जाटों) का आधिपत्य स्थिर हुआ।
    बाना जाटों का राज्य भारतवर्ष की पश्चिमी सीमा पर भी रहा है। जाट्स दी ऐनशन्ट् रूलर्ज पृ० 224 पर बी० एस० दहिया ने लिखा है कि “अहलावत व बाना जाट भारतीय सीमा पर शत्रु को रोकने वाले द्वारपाल थे।” (हवाला अलबुरुनीज् इण्डिया बाई सचाऊ पृ० 193)।
    यह बाना वंश शुद्ध वैदिकधर्मी रहा। सिक्खों और मुसलमानों में इनकी सत्ता नहीं है। अजमेर के समीप व्यावर में, जिला बीकानेर में भदानार, कड़ियार, खाण्डा, जिला मेरठ में गिरधरपुर, चित्तौली, चंदौड़ी आदि गांव बाना जाटों के हैं।
    बाना लोग बानगंगा (बयाना क्षेत्र) के किनारे से उठकर ईरान देश में गये। वहां जाकर बस्ती आबाद की जहां उनके नाम पर वहां की नदी का नाम बाना नदी पड़ गया3।

  • बाना परिवार स्नेह मिलन और प्रतिभा सम्मान समारोह 2017 क्यों और कैसे रखा गया ?
    गौपुत्र अजय बाना के मुताबिक 25 सितंबर 2013 को उनके मन में विचार आया के क्यों ना अपने परिवार के बारे में जाना जाए के कौन-2 कहां-2 रह रहा है । इसी मंशा से फेसबुक पर एक ग्रुप बनाया बाना (जाट) परिवार और बाना गोत्र के सभी को फेसबुक पर ढूंढना शुरु किया तो काफी संख्या में बाना भाइयों को ग्रुप में ऐड कर लिया और प्रदीप जी बाना बकरियाँवाली का बहुत सहयोग मिला इस कार्य हेतु । फिर एक मंशा और जागृत हो गई, कि क्यों ना सब भाइयों से दूरभाष नम्बर लिये जांए और सम्पर्क साधा जाए तो इसी मंशा से बाना (जाट) परिवार फेसबुक के ग्रुप में गौपुत्र अजय बाना ने एक पोस्ट डाली के सभी भाई अपने-2 दूरभाष (मोबाइल)नम्बर कॉमेंट बाक्स में लिखे । तो उसमें बहुत भारी संख्या में भाइयों के कॉमेंट आए और कुछ कड़वी बातें भी सुनने को मिली लेकिन परिवार में ये सब चलता है फिर 15/11/2013 को गौपुत्र अजय बाना द्वारा वॉटस एप ग्रुप बनाया गया जनवरी 2017 तक ये ग्रुप युं ही आम ग्रुपों की तरह ही चलता रहा । फिर इस ग्रुप में शुरूआती चार मैम्बर सक्रिय हुए जिसमें 1 चौधरी मोहन लाल बाना बाला राजपुरा, 2 प्रदीप बाना बकरियांवाली, 3 राजेन्द्र बाना गुलाबगढ, 4 गौपुत्र अजय बाना सभी ने विचार विमर्श करना शुरू किया के क्यों न परिवार मिलन समारोह किया जाए तो जब सबसे सहमति मांगी गई तो सब बहुत ही खुश हुए और सबकी सहमति से 16-17 दिसंबर 2017 की तारीख तय कर ली गई के बीकानेर मिलेंगे । लेकिन समस्या ये रही के कहां फिर हमने डुंगरगढ तहसील जिला बीकानेर के गांव बाना में सम्पर्क किया जिसमें बाना गोत्र के ही परिवार ज्यादा है । वहां पर पहला सम्पर्क बाबू लाल बाना से हुआ और तब सब परिवार की तरफ से राजेन्द्र बाना और अजय बाना को बाना गांव भेजने का फैसला हुआ और जब बाना गांव पंहुचे तो बुजुर्गों के आशीर्वाद से युवाओं का भरपूर साथ मिला । वहां जाकर सभी समस्यायें खत्म हो गई क्योंकि बाना गांव की तरफ से खाने कि पुरी जिमेदारी ले ली गई के परिवार को खाना बाना गांव देगा और जाट धर्मशाला बुक करवाने की जिमेदारी भी गांव के बुजुर्गों के आशीर्वाद से युवाओं ने ले ली वहां बी आर सी ग्रुप के chairperson शिवलाल बाना व अधिवक्ता राजाराम बाना हेमेन्द्र बाना और बाना गांव के युवाओं का भरपूर सहयोग मिला ! उस समय बाड़मेर जौधपुर औशियां जयपुर उतर प्रदेश मध्य प्रदेश व हरियाणा से काफी संख्या में बाना परिवार के अग्रणी सदस्य शामिल हुए 16-17 दिसंबर 2017 बाना परिवार के लिए एक ऐतिहासिक दिन बना ।

It was founded by Bana clan Jats. Bana village is inhabited by Bana clan Jats only. There are 550 families of Bana Jats living in this village. There is only one family of Bhamu gotra living in the village. They migrated from Jaleu Bari village in Ratangarh tehsil in Churu district. Jaleu village is supposed to be place of origin of Banas who spread in Rajasthan. Jaleu still has a population of 30 families of Bana gotra Jats.
